Make this Valentine’s day even sweeter by visiting Loveland on February 14th and 15th for the second annual Loveland Sweetheart Festival.
For more than 70 years, Loveland has embraced sweethearts near and far. And this year, the nation’s “Sweetheart City” invites them to gather downtown on the new Foundry Plaza to celebrate the season of love.
The festival kicks off on 3rd Street with a group wedding, after which attendees can enjoy live music, a beer and wine garden, a light show, pyrotechnics, a tunnel of love, and more.
Kid-focused activities will take place in and around the kids’ zone on 4th Street between Lincoln and Cleveland during festival hours. Some of these activities include but are not limited to a brick creation station, princess meet and greets, the Little Miss Valentine and Mr. Cupid Contest, airbrush face painting, glitter tattoos, an ice penguin ring toss, and a Palace of Sweets.
In addition to hosting the Sweetheart Festival, Loveland also runs the largest Valentine re-mailing program in the nation. Every year, more than a hundred thousand valentines are packaged inside larger envelopes and sent to Loveland, where volunteers hand-stamp them with a Valentine’s verse and send them on to the intended recipients. Leading up to Valentine’s Day, the city also authorizes the placement of red hearts with sponsored personal messages on light poles and other fixtures lining the downtown streets.
Take your honey, your family, or your friends and celebrate the love you share in Loveland, Colorado, where Valentine’s Day is just a little sweeter.
