It’s safe to say that Moffat County, the northwesternmost of Colorado’s 64 counties, is a bit off the beaten path, but that’s what makes it so extraordinary. With nearly two million acres of pristine public lands, flowing rivers, and unspoiled landscapes filled with wildlife, Moffat County is the perfect place to escape the stresses of daily life and immerse yourself in nature.
In Moffat, you’ll find the towns of Craig, Maybell, Dinosaur, Hamilton, Massadona, and Lay. And from one end of the county to the other, you can fish, hike, camp, four-wheel, raft, and view wildlife.
What better way to experience Moffat County than during Colorado’s Great Northwest Summer Kick-Off, a multi-day event celebrating the region’s history, arts, culture, outdoor recreation, and great communities.
So, what’s going on at the Summer Kick-Off?
From May 4th through May 11th, athletes of all abilities can compete in the Where the Hell is Maybell Bike Event, the Dirt Hog Golf Tournament, and the Colorado Endurance Paddling Challenge.
Looking for a more leisurely good time? During these same dates, check out the Great American Horse Drive, the Maybell Heritage Days Celebration, or Art, Apps, & Ales at the Museum of Northwest Colorado where beer tastings and apps accompany a night at the museum.
These events are just a sampling of everything there is to do in Moffat County during the Great Northwest Summer Kick-Off. For information on these events and other events throughout the summer, visit www.VisitMoffatCounty.com.
