Rapids and Grass Festival in Buena Vista

Rapids and Grass Festival in Buena Vista

Pack your tent and head to Buena Vista June 29th through July 1st for the Rapids and Grass Festival, an event that was so successful its first year, organizers are doing it all over again!

This year, in addition to the huge beer tasting event and live music at the Beach, Rapidgrass, DJ Logic, and Leftover Salmon are set to perform Friday night through Sunday night in the Ivy Ballroom at the brand-new Surf Hotel adjacent to the festival’s grounds.

A weekend at Rapids and Grass means sampling beers from over 45 of the best breweries in the country, jamming to an incredible lineup of bluegrass music, and taking in the sweeping mountain views.

Local food trucks will serve up lunch and dinner and a 7-mile raft trip through class III whitewater will be available on Sunday for an extra fee.

Kick the weekend off Friday night from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Jailhouse Craft Beer Bar’sWelcome Party. This popular watering hole is located in Buena Vista’s historic 1880s jailhouse and features 10 rotating taps of craft beers from across Colorado, the United States, and abroad.

Tent, car, and RV camping is available at the festival site. Imagine camping under the stars surrounded by 14,000-foot peaks after a great day of beer, music, and soaking in the sun.

After its inaugural year, the Rapids and Grass Festival was touted by many publications, including PorchDrinking.com, which said, “Welcome to the new standard in festivals,” and 5280 Magazine, which said, “There are few things more ‘Colorado’ than bluegrass, river sports, and craft beer.”
