On June 1st and June 2nd, and again on August 17th and August 18th, Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad passengers ride along with blues artists who play into the night. Each artist performs in their own vintage coach while passengers dance from car to car, delighting in a variety of musical performances.

A highlight of the evening includes sunset views along the “Highline,” a world-famous section of the railroad 400 feet high above the Animas River.

Not a blues fan? Not to worry. A ride on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is reason enough to come along. The Denver & Rio Grande Railroad first brought trains to Durango in 1881. While these trains were used to haul silver and gold ore from the San Juan Mountains, it was the views that became the railroad’s priceless attraction.
